He subsequently joined the United States Department of Education, where he served as a Data Analyst supporting federal education initiatives.

Beyond his professional work, Mr. Hales has played an active role in civic engagement in the District of Columbia and has served on three mayoral inaugural committees, helping support the planning and execution of citywide celebrations marking the beginning of new mayoral administrations.
